FALLY IPUPA, 2FACE & J. MARTINS TO HEADLINE MTV LIVE EVENT IN LAGOS TO HELP RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE CHOOSE OR LOSE CAMPAIGN
Fally Ipupa, 2FACE and J. Martins will headline the first edition of MTV Live – MTV’s new live music night that will be taking over Africa in 2011.
On Friday April 1, 2011 at Tribeca in Lagos, MTV Live will see Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa give his first full live set performance in Nigeria, showing more of the star quality that wowed music fans at MAMA 2010, Lagos, in December. Fally Ipupa will perform a stunning live set with his full band and back-up dancers, including his signature, hip-shaking sensational song ‘Sexy Dance’.
Nigerian favourite 2Face, who won Best Male and Artist of the Year at MAMA 2010, will be on hand at MTV Live, showcasing the trademark blend of reggae, R&B and traditional African musical influences that has made him Nigeria’s favourite contemporary musician.
MTV Live will also witness an on-stage reunion between J. Martins and Fally Ipupa as they reprise their 2010 collaboration on the remix of Martins’ hit Jupa Remix.
The first edition of MTV Live will be themed around ‘Choose or Lose’, MTV’s voter mobilization campaign, and is designed to inspire and empower young Nigerians to exercise their right to vote ahead of the upcoming April elections. The event will also include an opportunity to see a screening of Rep 4 Naija, the cool music video collaboration between Nigerian musicians eLDee, Sound Sultan, Black Twang, Naeto C, D’banj and M.I..
Fally Ipupa led the winners at the third edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards with Airtel (MAMA), taking home two trophies at the music awards ceremony at the Eko Expo Hall, Lagos on 11 December 2010. Nominated in four separate categories, Ipupa scored wins for Best Video (“Sexy Dance”) and Best Francophone act. Having first made his name with Koffi Olomide’s Quartier Latin, Ipupa subsequently scaled the heights of solo success with the release of his two solo albums “Droit Chemin” (2006) and “Arsenal de Belles Melodies” (2009).

Q. Ok, then tell the world who the real Annie Macaulay and what it is that the public does not know about you?
R. Well you know my name is Annie Macaulay is of Akwa Ibom state, local authorities Ifiki. The only girl in a family of four studies of computer science at Lagos State University, LASU. I UNILAG theater. I have a very beautiful lady and actress Isabelle full time. That’s what I always wanted to do and I’m working on several other projects coming soon.
Q. talk about your acting career, when did you make her professional debut in Nollywood and how rewarding it was economically? How you’re rich.
AI have always worked all my life in school, I did some productions, but now I have finished my studies, I would say professionally, the 2008th 2010 is one of my best years and I know he will only get better day by day. In the aspect of money now, oh boy it does not really paid off oo but I thank God that I’m comfortable.
Q. So how long is the marriage to come, as you can see, there seems to be the new trend in the entertainment industry now looks at the number of celebrities who have devoted too late?
A. We do not think I’m ready for marriage. I concentrate on my career and Annie Macaulay create a brand so I can make more money. Today my concern is my baby and my career. No man in my life now, would come when God says he will. It is never too late. I did not follow the trend.
Q. Have you ever been sexually harassed?
AA Capital is the answer. Never has been and certainly if you because I do not work in this direction. I know what I want and believe in myself. Another thing to consider is the card. If you dress provocatively and wait to be free from sexual harassment, then you are wrong. The dress has a lot to do about it. Furthermore, it has become a threat to our society. Is everywhere in the banking sector, telecommunications, insurance, entertainment and what you have.
Q. And what is the history of lesbianism in Nollywood cabal, you know that?
R. I do not know anything about him, I do not know if such thing exists, because I’ve never experienced and do not know if ever. I’m right and never believed in these things.
Q. See for yourself-list actor?
AI do not know what you mean-list actress or what you have. All I can say is that I am an actress and I’m doing my job as professionally as possible. So far, my producers and directors have never been disappointed.
P. What are the tutors in the industry?
R. Well, I must respect the elders in the industry. I’m not too much of a mentor person, but probably there are legends in business, I hold in high esteem. I will not mention names.
Q. You look very pretty, even after a child, can you tell us your beauty routine?
A. Well, I would say that I exercise a lot and workout at the gym. I know what I eat, I do a lot of fruit, as you may know that it helps to nourish the body. Besides all this, I have not anything special I do to keep fit. I eat well, exercise and do not want to be on the cool side. That’s why you can see that I lost so much weight. I am very pleased with the way I look now and are very glad you like it.
Q. Baby Isabella is still very young, and bearing in mind that you are a single parent, how to reconcile the need to get the child and severity of work that requires travel all the time?
A. Remember that it is over two years now. It was not easy at first because I had to take her everywhere I go, but for now she is old now and started school. The Nanny is always there for her when I was not abusing his privileges as kindergarten. I’m always with her, either, and my mother is still very close and available to take care of her. She could not have been in better hands. So I have time for my career and can spend weeks, months in placement, if I have work to do. If you look you will see that I lose a lot of weight, all because of having to be there for my baby and do my job as an actor. God has been my pillar and strength.
Q. Give us an overview of some of the movies that you used, and some that you are working?
AI did, I can not begin to decline now. And I tell you a couple of weeks will see more of me on the screen now than ever. Just watch out for Annie Macaulay.
P saw this ad on television in a program that you expect, what is it?

Question: What is this misconception that people have about you, and when you hear all these stories that are not true, how to react?

It’s never good to judge a book by its cover. I am easygoing person, they will. And bad stories before I used to be very low when I read this and this is not true of me, but now I’ve developed a thick skin for it. They move me because I realized that it is a price to pay to be in the spotlight.
P. What should be done responsibly in this sector is not as easy as it sounds, right?
AI would say that if you have the talent, believe in yourself and go for your goal. Come.
