Everybody who watched African American movies noticed that the majority of them are based on the troubles that black American face. A lot of years ago Africans were taken from their native land and brought to the United States and were forced to work as unpaid laborers. What is more, they were not paid and sometimes even were subjected to inhumane treatment. Only in 1863 after setting Emancipation Proclamation black people got their freedom. Even though African Americans were free under the law, but still in a lot of states of the country their rights were violated, there was a discrimination of their rights and what is more, they were also treated as second-class citizens.
As a result black people were forced to attend separate schools and even had to go to different restaurants. The situation did not change much till the conflict that was in 1955 when a black woman refused to give up her seat to white person. That event was the beginning of the civil rights movement.
