The X-Men are back, and this time, younger and sexier than before. Set in 1963, X-Men: First Class is a prequel to the previous X-Men films, and will feature Professor Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. Professor X and Magneto were once best friends, two mutants discovering what it meant to be a mutant in a world that did not accept them.
Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Wolverine from the early X-Men films will not be featured. The White Queen Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club, and Havok, the brother of Cyclops, will be featured in the prequel. Other mutants from previous installments will also make an appearance, namely scientist Dr. Hank McCoy (Beast), and shapeshifter Raven Darkholme (Mystique). Many of these will likely end up on new merchandise like shirts depicting X Men.
The Xavier School for Gifted Mutants, founded by Charles Xavier, teaches young mutants how to harness their powers for the greater good. The students in the school form the superhero team known as the X-Men, who strive to protect a world that hates them. The team’s archenemy is Magneto, a master of magnetism who believes that the world should be ruled by mutants, not by what he considers to be a lesser species in humans. A lot of X Men t shirts pay homage to this epic struggle.
A mysterious secret society of mutants known as the Hellfire Club will be in the movie. It is headed by Sebastian Shaw (The Black King), played by Kevin Bacon. The Hellfire Club will square off against the X-Men in the movie.
The franchise looks to be in great health with plenty of fresh shirts with X Men on them available to buy. X-Men: First Class is intended to be the first movie of a trilogy. The tone of the movie is darker, and more mature than previous X-Men films. Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies, returns as a producer. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and January Jones star.
