A Piano And Organ Are Both Keyboard Instruments
A piano and organ are both keyboard instruments but they differ in so many ways. A piano is a percussion instrument while an organ is a wind instrument. A piano, being a percussion instrument, produces sounds which is sent out by striking a key that is attached mechanically to a hammer. This hammer then strikes a metal string held in tension on a frame.
The sustainability of the sound can only be heard for a short period of time, unless the pianist strikes the keys again. A grand instrument is more costly. Aside from the fact that the materials, that the instrument is made of, are of high quality, a grand instrument also requires constant maintenance and repairs. Its parts need to be replaced over time. Transferring a piano to another location also requires 3 or more people to ensure safe-handling.
Labor costs gets in the way, for that matter. A keyboard is less expensive since most of its materials are synthetic. Aside from that, it only needs little maintenance. It is more handy, especially, with the new portable models. The keyboards are a lot cheaper than that of the other instrument. Some organ keys are made with specialized plastics while piano keys are made with more expensive materials to appear like an ivory.
Musicians or music lovers prefer a grand instrument over a musical keyboard because the music is expressed more with emotions when played through a grand instrument while playing a keyboard has a fancy touch which sometimes defeat the real essence of the song.
